One more reason to be wary

I honestly don’t know if I would have paid attention to this had the large red banner across the middle of the spray gotten my attention.

Um. Yea. I had no idea that Baker’s Joy had flour in it. Did you?

Thankfully, I’ve been using olive oil in a spritz bottle that we got in the dollar section at Target. I’m not big on the “unknown” variable in my cooking sprays.

The other lovely thing about having a spritz bottle that you make, is that you can vary your spray ingredients. We regularly use the following:

*olive oil infused with garlic, rosemary (sprigs and cloves put into the bottle)

*olive oil and balsamic vinegar (just be sure to shake the bottle first)

*Salad dressings (cuts back on the amount of dressing I use when I can “spritz it on” rather than pour/toss it)

*Mustard and agave nectar with a bit of water to thin it out.

*cider vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce

*BBQ spritz: smoke flavoring, mustard, agave and soy sauce

Use one spritz bottle for plain oil for spritzing pans, etc before cooking and another for the flavored/varied flavoring.

Happy Spritzing!

Get a Misto! They’re the best, you fill them yourselves, but they spray easier and keep the oil from going rancid longer.

The Misto we have is nice – but it leaked. =( That drove me wild. LOL. So We ended up with the dollar-version of a mister. Maybe I had a bum misto? -Kate
