If you had one extra day each week to relish life, what would you do?

As a kid, I don’t think I even had to think about it. I just did it. I lived full on, with both feet jumping in and relishing every second passionately.

I’ve just finished my morning chores and my morning yoga and meditation. I’m feeling rather reflective about life.

So what would you do? What would you do if you were given the gift of an extra day a week – no strings attached, no work, no meetings, no appointments, no “rules” for what must get done, phone calls, etc…. just one full day for you to LIVE.

What would you do with it?


  1. What a tough question (but a great question!). I think I’d bake or cook and feed family/friends. I love to feed others. And really relax and spend some quality time with the Artist. No e-mail, no phone.

    I would hope my day would be filled with sunshine -thats for SURE! And time with my love..doing a whole lot of meadering, laughing, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. :) Thanks for being contemplative with me! 😉 – Kate

  2. I was trying to think about the last time I had a day to myself, without school, without a Jeffrey responsibility, without Randy.

    All to me, by myself, alone? Hasn’t happened in ages. Doubt it will any time soon.

  3. Hi kate. I was very pleased to find your comment on my blog. I’ve been following yours for quite some time, but I’ve never left a comment until now, since my English is not so good (in fact, I’ve been helped in writing this one :-D). I have Celiac too.

    By the way, my blog is written Italian for the reason above, but I can translate for you some of my recipe if you need. Anyway, I found that Google translation tool was quite good in translating the recipe you left a comment on (just the recipe section, the translation of the remaining part is awful!).

  6. Oh that is easy! My favorite days, my VERY favorite days, are the ones when we have taken the kids hiking in the mountains. Spring is springing and with it spring fever, and we’ll be climbing the hills with the kids (1&3yrs) on our backs exploring the rocks, plants, and shapes in the clouds in no time. I will add that a sunshiney day is a must, as hiking in the rain with 2 toddlers and a dog can turn into misery.

    First, I need to start my GF Odyssey (I’m waiting for lab results, but I just know it’s gluten wreaking havoc on my body! I had an accidental trial for 3 weeks traveling abroad when I did not eat any wheat!), get some sleep, start exercising again, re-learn how to shop and cook, and then I’ll be able to climb me some mountains.

    Kate, I love your blog. Can’t wait to try some of these recipes! I think the tapioca will have to be first… Maybe I’ll be able to convince my honey to go GF with me!
